Jak looks normal enough (maybe even a tad dashing), but his buddy, Daxter, has been transformed into a ferrety little thing due to a misbegotten curse. Your task is to help transform ol’ Dax back to his normal self, and that will require seeking the wisdom of the ancients. The secrets of a race called the Precursors are hidden throughout the land, and finding those bits of information is the only thing that can save Daxter from his dark fate. Make your way through a vast 3D world (there’s no traditional level structure here), enjoying the most open-ended gameplay ever created for a home console. Ultimately, only you can decide which quests to embark on and which to reject, but there are plenty of characters to lend their advice throughout. Deadly enemies lurk around corners and through doors, so make sure you come equipped with wits and reflexes. Packed with spells, weapons, and hidden goodies, JAK AND DAXTER: The Precursor Legacy is a thing to behold.

I had heard that the Jak games were good ones and I was looking forward to beginning this trillogy. I had no idea at the time just how good of a gaming series I would be getting involved in.
While Jak 1 does not have an incredibly deep story line, it is still a good one. Basicly, Daxter falls into a pool of Dark Eco and is transferred into the Naughty Otsel we all know and love. Samos, the Green Sage, says the only ones who will be able to change him back are Gol and Mia who live far to the north. Kiera has a vehicle that can get you there, but needs power cells to allow it to fly over the Lava. Thus begins your quest to collect Power Cells. Along the way, you find that the other sages have been captured by Gol and Mia. So, you continue on to save the sages and hopefully Daxter.
This game's worlds are beautifully designed and the characters are quite memorable. There will be many, many times where you will find yourself laughing heartily. |
